How do I create an MP3?
Once you have your song recorded, you'll need to convert it to MP3 format so listeners can download it.
Any of a number of pieces of software can be used to do this. If you have iTunes, you can convert your tracks
to MP3 by going to "Preferences," then "Advanced," then "Importing," and selecting "MP3 Encoder" next to "Import
Using." Then, import your music files into iTunes, select a track and click on "Advanced", then select "Convert
Selection to MP3." That's all there is to it. There are also free audio editors/file converters available on the
web, or for best results we recommend using BIAS Peak on the Mac or Sony Sound Forge or Steinberg Wavelab on Windows to do the conversion. The advantage to using a "commercial" program is that you'll also get a lot of audio editing and processing capabilities that will be very useful to you when you're creating the audio for your song downloads.

How to secure the rights to sell cover songs?
You want to sell your cover version of a great song. Fabulous! Of course, you'll need to secure the rights to do so. The good news is that the U.S. Copyright Office provides for what's called a "compulsory license", meaning that you can't be prevented from securing the rights for sale of cover songs as downloads or on CDs. (We recommend you print off and read the information published by the Copyright Office at this URL) In order to secure song rights you'll need to follow several steps, which are all described for you at HarryFox.com. They'll help you get it done!

Log into your account. On the right, under "My Page Details," click on "Edit or Delete Artist Page." Then, click on Tab Five, "Compensation and Completion." Click on "Done, Post Me Live." If this button doesn't show, then check through each of the previous four tabs and make sure that you have filled in all required information.
